Mary C. Rinehart, CFPChairwoman

A native of Charlotte, Mary started the firm as First Personal Financial Services Inc. in 1985 and later changed the name to Rinehart & Associates, now Rinehart Wealth Management. Mary has served her clients in all roles throughout her career at Rinehart, as Financial Advisor, as Investment Manager, as CEO and Chief Compliance Officer, but most importantly as friend, confidante and trusted adviser.

Mary started the firm after seeing her father’s New York City municipal bonds default and received an early education on financial planning and investment management as she took over supervising her parents’ financial affairs, including multi-faceted investment portfolio, real estate and trusts. She saw the lack of individualized advice and service in Charlotte and founded her firm to provide financial help to individuals and families. Her emphasis has always been to have a core foundation of trust and transparency.

Mary pursued her CFP®, delved into the world of investments and made a commitment to never sell any financial products, by making the firm one of the first providers of Fee-Only wealth management services in Charlotte. This commitment and desire to put the clients first resulted in a reputation for integrity and objectivity in providing wealth management solutions both locally and nationally.

Rinehart Wealth Management gives 10 percent of its profits to charitable organizations each year. The associates volunteer as a group and are each involved in charities, organizations and volunteer groups, setting the firm apart not only in its expert services, but its involvement and caring for the community. Mary is the constant supporter of these endeavors and has been involved in numerous organizations throughout her illustrious career including serving on the Board of the Madeira School in McLean, Virginia, chairing the Development Committee of the Dilworth Center and others. Mary has been quoted in a variety of local and national publications including the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, Forbes, Business Week, the Charlotte Business Journal and Charlotte Observer. She is a pillar of not only the investment manager and financial advisory community, but Charlotte as a whole.
